Leonid Slutskiy: Doumbia’s miss was pivotal in the final result
— Manchester United had a huge territorial advantage. We defended a lot, tried to counter-attack. We looked for one chance and we had that chance. I think that the episode with Doumbia’s miss was pivotal in the final result. Once we conceded it was really difficult to equalize since we had so little chances.
— Did you take the decision that Doumbia will start on the bench on the matchday?
— No. We knew in advance that he’d be able to play very limited amount of time.
— How would you comment the episode with the conceded goal? Have you noticed whose mistake led to this goal?
— I didn’t see the replay yet, so there’s no sense to comment and blame anybody. When Manchester United has a bid advantage, the risk of conceding a goal is always very high.
— Don’t you think your players were scared a bit?
— That’s not the reason why we couldn’t get the ball under control. We played against a very strong side. In the first game they emphasized on the ball control too. We wish to have more offensive action, but that’s now always the case.
