PFC CSKA morning practice and the training schedule of Jesus Medina.
Midfielder Jesus Medina is undergoing functional testing these days, which from this year will be mandatory for all players signing a contract with the club. This will help identify potential weaknesses and possible predictors of injury.
— All new players coming to PFC CSKA undergo a pre-contract examination, where we identify problems that may prevent the signing of the agreement, — explained to pfc-cska.com Eduard Bezuglov, the team's head of the medical staff. — When confirmation is received that there are no global health problems, the player arrives to the team, and we begin functional testing. These are hematological tests, saliva tests, speed and strength testing, and many more parameters. After such testing, football players, being healthy globally, may sometimes have certain restrictions for training in the group. This may require working under the supervision of physical fitness trainers and rehabilitation specialists for 7-10 days, as well as exercise modification.
This is exactly the case with Jesus Medina: there are no global problems, but there are minor problems with muscle tissue and one of the joints of the lower extremities, which will require from several days to a week of training under individual control. For example, if Medina had started training in the group from the very first days, of course, this could have led to injury.
But if, on the contrary, we give him an individual program that takes into account his current condition, then by the end of the training camp Jesus will be functionally ready, and then at the second training camp he will be able to work with everyone else without any restrictions.
