Chidera Ejuke: The atmosphere was crazy
15.09.2020
PFC CSKA Nigerian striker about his first derby and the support of the fans.
— Thank you. To be honest, it was a really good win for the team. I think everybody worked hard and everybody put in a lot of energy. It is just so important for us to win the derby. And of course I am so exited to score my first goal and I hope this is the first of many more to come.
— Despite the restrictions, despite the fact that the stadium was not full, how did you like the atmosphere?
— To be honest, the fans were impressive, they were supporting and cheering even though we missed one goal in the beginning of the first half. I really enjoyed what I saw. The atmosphere was crazy. I will be waiting for this again in the upcoming matches.
— You played on the position of a forward today. What did the coach tell you when you were going out on substitute?
— He just told me to go and enjoy the game and defend as well, it was important. When you play forward you have to be free and enjoy your game and use what you have to create chances for the team. You should support each other on the pitch.
— You said after Grozny that the international break should help you to adapt in Moscow, in the team. Did it really help you?
— Yes, it has been a great week during the international break, there were a lot of work and training with the team. A lot of things has happened. Everything is fine and I am settling in so the pause was really good for me.
— It did not take you a long to score your first goal for PFC CSKA. How many goals do you plan to score this season?
— To be honest it is exiting to score. It is my goal here, I just want to do my best and to give my best for the fans, for the team, for the club. I hope I can keep scoring during the season.
