Ivica Olic: It was hard match against Rotor, but we showed our desire and character
13.04.2021
Press conference of the PFC CSKA head coach Ivica Olic after the home victory over Rotor.
— What have you already changed in the team? And what do you want to change?
— There was no half of the team when I came here, many were in the national teams. The players arrived two days before the game, and there was not much time left to change something. It is very important that the guys realize their form, believe in themselves again. I knew that the upcoming games would not be easy. Rotor is fighting for survival. It was difficult, but we showed our desire and character, scored six points in the Championship, and reached the semifinals of the Cup. This is our style.
— Dzagoev led PFC CSKA to the semifinals of the Cup in Tula, the team scored the second goal after he come out onto the pitch today. Are there any negotiations on his new contract?
— I know Dzaga well, he is a very important player of our team. He had a lot of problems due to muscle injuries recently. The team is a family, and it was important to me as a coach that such a player was on the bench at first, and everyone saw that he could help.
The main thing is Alan's health. He has a desire to play. I think he will help us many times before the end of the season. We will see after that. I hope that Dzagoev will continue to play for us.
— How do you like working with Ejuke, and why did he start to improve?
— I knew his qualities even before I joined PFC CSKA. He's been here since the first day, and I've talked to him a lot. I believe in him, I am sure that he is a good guy, he wants to work. If everything goes well, then he will have many more matches like today.
