Nair Tiknizyan: I would like to sincerely thank our fans
20.08.2020
PFC CSKA defender about the match in Saint Petersburg, the coach’s confidence and the confrontation with Yuri Zhirkov.
— Nair, what can you say after the match in your hometown?
— It is a real pleasure to play knowing that your relatives are sitting in the stands. It encourages and motivates. Today I have had mixed impressions. On the one hand, I am glad that I came out onto the pitch, on the other – not the best result, as we came a little short. I want to thank all the fans who are always with us. This pushes us forward.
— With what attitude from the coach did you come out onto the pitch?
— To add aggression up front, to put pressure and to impose on the game.
— You get more playing time. Does this give you more confidence?
— Sure. Apparently, Viktor Mikhailovich sees progress and rewards me with playing time. In turn I have to justify this trust and get better with each match.
— Can we say that PFC CSKA has become stronger compared to the previous match against Zenit?
— Certainly, we have become much stronger in some aspects of the game than at the beginning of June. However, the result leaves much to be desired, so there is still a lot of work ahead.
— You came out on the wing against the former army man Yuri Zhirkov. Was it difficult?
— Yes, it is always difficult to play against such an experienced player. I tried to impose as much aggression as possible and prevent forward passes.
