Vadim Karpov: I was falling asleep imagining that I would score
09.04.2021
PFC CSKA defender about the match with Arsenal, his debut goal and Olic's encouragement.
— To be honest, I think he did not. But I was falling asleep imagining that maybe I could score. And so, it happened.
— Recall that goal.
— It was a good assist from Sigurdsson. I jumped up, headed the ball, and that's it. I open my eyes — the goalkeeper threw the ball into the goal (smiles).
— This is Ivica Olic's second match and the second strong-willed victory. How did the coach energize you for the second half?
— He said that we played better than the opponent, created a lot of chances, but did not use them. He added that he believes that we can change the game in the second half.
— Did you analyze the last game in Tula when you couldn't win?
— Ivica showed a couple of moments, told us how we should play in defense and in attack, what the opponent's strengths and weaknesses are.
— What did your teammates tell you in the locker room?
— Nothing special, just congratulated each other, as usual.
