Viktor Hancharenka: Gaich already understands better what we want from him
14.10.2020
PFC CSKA head coach gave a comment to pfc-cska.com after a friendly match with Arsenal Tula.
Our main goal was to let Diveev, Dzagoev, Shkurin, Vasin and Gaich to get game practice. Someone played 90 minutes, Dzaga and Diveev — as much as was necessary. Well, such matches always give you the opportunity to see the next reserve. Young guys left a pleasant impression with their work and attitude. If we talk about the game itself, a month ago our game with Tula was a little vague, a little blurry in attack and in defense. Today we looked more wholly, created more chances in attack. Arsenal also had enough chances, but we like this kind of an open game better. Penalty episodes are at the referee's discretion. In the moment of Alan's free kick, it seemed to me that the ball crossed the line. But not the point, the main thing that we looked at young guys and gave them game practice.
— How do you assess Gaich's progress over the past month between the two matches with Arsenal, in which he scored goals?
— He already understands better what we want from him. He correctly assesses many things — how we systematically defend, how we press, how we attack, when he need to open. He fought well for the balls both up and down, which is very important.
— What is Igor Diveev's condition?
— He got the necessary practice after a long pause. We understand his level. Despite the long time that he has not played, he has maintained this high level.
